I'm hoping it may be as easy as creating a duplicate of a weapon and just reclassing it so it can fit that slot. I'm not sure how the animations for it will go though which is another part of the issue.

They added the attachment slots so really it would be a good feature and it's something I have discussed with others as well as putting it as a feature request for ACE3 but I'm sure there are other issues with it that may prevent it from happening which puts it in the hands of BI.

There is no allowance for launches to have attachments within the current engine, so if you are using that slot to have a second long arm, they'd BI would have to extend the functionality to this slot or you'd have to be restricted to using your second long arm without attachments.

You could just fudge it with the current animations but that would look crappy visually. The argument from realism doesn't really carry over as I am unable to remember any instances of haveing the requirement or need to be carrying more than a single primary weapon and sidearm on any op.

So the truth if this is that the game's available simulation types cannot be modified or appended because the simulation code is not in. As such, simply making up new type numbers like you are suggesting, will not be recognised by the engine at all.

In order to allow rifles to be placed into the launcher slot, the rifle would need to be created from a launcher base class and not the rifle base class, or the launcher slot will need to be reconfigured to allow rifles.
